About the Role:


We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Facilities Engineer to lead our Electrical Safety and Contracted Support team at The University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our Facilities Services team, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering and project management efforts for the repair and replacement of major equipment across campus.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the effective planning, execution, and completion of projects related to HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, and other critical facilities systems
  • Develop and implement commonalities and best practices with the Assistant Director for Engineering and Technical Support
  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, including disseminating information and directives from FOM leadership to the team
  • Lead both the electrical safety programs and maintenance and upgrades to campus building automation systems
  • Mentor, guide, and manage engineering and technical staff individually and as a collective team


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a field related to the work to be performed
  • Five years of progressive experience in the field of facilities engineering, construction, and project management
  • Eligible for Professional Engineer license within one year of hire
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer license or other advanced licenses specific to electrical and automation
  • More than ten years of experience in facilities engineering, construction, and project management
  • Experience with UT systems, programs, and software such as FAMIS, DEFINE, WORKQS, WORQSpace, and Tableau
