This role involves working closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients during their hospital stay. The Physician Assistant will oversee patient management from admission through discharge, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial evaluations and gather medical histories of patients upon admission.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians to create and execute treatment strategies.
  • Conduct daily rounds to assess and manage patient recovery.
  • Order and analyze diagnostic tests, including laboratory work, imaging studies, and EKGs.
  • Prescribe medications and recommend therapeutic measures as needed.
  • Coordinate care with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and discharge plans.
  • Ensure meticulous and compliant medical record-keeping in accordance with hospital protocols and regulations.
  • Engage in quality improvement projects and pursue ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Valid PA license in New York.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Prior experience in a hospitalist or inpatient care setting is required.
