Treatment Support Technician 2 Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Treatment Support Technician 2 to join our team at Gateway Rehab's Moffett House location in Beaver, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating programming, monitoring patient behavior, and conducting searches of patient belongings, rooms, and persons. As a Treatment Support Technician 2, you will serve as a liaison between clinical staff and patients, assist with intake paperwork, and participate in crisis intervention. Additionally, you will transport patients to meetings and appointments, monitor medication intake, and document patient interactions and progress in detailed notes.

Responsibilities and Expectations:
  1. Facilitate discussion groups and activities to promote patient engagement and well-being.
  2. Monitor patient behavior to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
  3. Conduct handbook orientation to educate patients on program expectations and rules.
  4. Search patient belongings, rooms, and persons to maintain a secure and orderly environment.
  5. Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and patients to facilitate effective communication.
  6. Assist patients in completing assessment forms to inform treatment planning.
  7. Respond to phone calls from family members, friends, and referral sources to provide support and information.
  8. Participate in crisis intervention to address urgent patient needs.
  9. Transport patients to meetings and appointments as necessary.
  10. Document patient interactions and progress in detailed notes.
  11. Collect urine samples and complete related paperwork for drug screening purposes.
  12. Provide post-discharge contacts and referrals under therapist direction.
  13. Monitor medication intake and document accordingly.
  14. Manage menu and nutrition needs, as applicable.
  15. Oversee donation and patient requests, as applicable.
  16. Supervise smoke breaks in the hospital setting, as applicable.
  17. Complete intake paperwork as needed to process new patients.
  18. Monitor clients' daily living skills, including chores, behaviors, and grooming issues.
  19. Remain on duty until relieved by a colleague.
  20. Attend mandatory training sessions and in-services to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Some college education is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential for transporting patients.
  • PASS A PA Criminal History Record Check.
  • OBTAIN PA OR A STATE CHILD ABUSE AND FBI FINGERPRINTING CLEARANCES.
  • OBtain CPR/First Aid Training.
  • Pass Drug Screen.
  • TB Testing.
  • This position demands mandatory staffing coverage to ensure a safe treatment environment.
  • Required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
  • If living a life of recovery, must attest to at least 18 months in recovery from substance use disorder.
Work Environment:
  • Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center.
  • Favorable working conditions.
  • Minimal physical demands.
  • Modest mental demands to respond to patients' simultaneous requests.
