Job Title: Cobol/DB2 Developer

This is a 12-month contract opportunity with Saxon Global. The role is based in Malvern, PA, with a hybrid onsite and remote work arrangement. Visa sponsorship is available for all nationalities, excluding H1B.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide intermediate-level system analysis, design, development, implementation, and testing of data-centric applications in a Mainframe environment.
  • Integrate third-party data as needed.
  • Apply agile software development methodologies, with a focus on Kanban.
  • Translate technical specifications into code for new or enhancement projects.
  • Develop well-structured, maintainable code that reuses subroutines or objects.
  • Write programs, ad hoc queries, and reports.
  • Participate in design, code, and test inspections to ensure methodology compliance.
  • Write system/technical portions of assigned deliverables and assist team members with their deliverables.
  • Perform unit testing and write unit test plans to ensure requirements are satisfied.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated track record of strong analysis, design, and implementation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in developing parallel applications using:
  • Required Skills include:
  • Strong experience in Mainframe Development.
  • DB2 for Z/OS.
  • SQL.
  • COBOL.
  • JCL/PROCs.
