Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Finishing Supervisor, the role involves inspecting linens for stains and damages, folding dry linens, operating feeder spreaders, and loading linen carts with neatly folded items.

Essential Duties

  • Evaluate, procure, receive, store, and manage all washable materials.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to laundry operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety within the laundry environment.
  • Document items that are damaged or discarded due to age or stains.
  • Monitor and report any textile damages to management.
  • Familiarize with all folding and ironing equipment.
  • Understand and apply appropriate wash temperatures and formulas.
  • Prepare for and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and use equipment and materials as instructed.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and vendor relations.
  • Exhibit reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Protect company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Be adaptable to changes in work hours as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to discuss job requirements.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships with team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and positive attitude in a multi-tasking role.
  • Flexible scheduling to meet operational demands.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operational manuals.
  • Visual acuity to identify imperfections in linens and equipment.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Work Permit.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Hepatitis A & B vaccinations are necessary.

Physical Demands
The physical requirements for this position include:

  • Ability to adapt to changing plans and manage stress effectively.
  • Coordination and dexterity to manipulate linens efficiently.
  • Occasional light work, lifting up to 20 pounds, and standing for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills for detailed instructions.
  • Repetitive hand movements and the ability to walk or move about frequently.
  • Occasional need to stoop or crouch.

Work Environment
The work environment includes exposure to mechanical parts, airborne particles, and potentially hazardous chemicals. Employees may encounter varying environmental conditions, including temperature extremes and moderate noise levels.
