Pitt Ohio Express is seeking a highly skilled Class A City Driver to join our team at our Utica, NY Terminal. As a key member of our transportation solutions team, you will be responsible for safely operating a commercial vehicle to pick up and deliver general freight.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Commercial Vehicle Safely: Drive a commercial vehicle safely while picking up and delivering general freight.
- Load and Unload Trailer: Load and unload trailer, either individually or with assistance of dockworkers. Mechanical freight handling equipment may be used where available and appropriate.
- Perform Physical Demands: Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight. Securing of freight may be required through strapping or other methods.
- Inspect Vehicle: Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
- Comply with Regulations: Comply with all Federal requirements regarding the transportation of Hazardous Materials.
- Maintain Records: Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver's logs and other records required by law.
- Age: A minimum age of 23 years of age.
- Driving Experience: All city tractor trailer drivers must have two years of verifiable driving experience (approximate 100,000 miles) or a minimum of one year of verifiable driving experience and a diploma from an accredited driving school that Pitt Ohio approves.
- Endorsements: All Drivers must possess or obtain within 90 days a Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement on their current valid driver's license issued by the resident state in which they reside.
- License: All drivers to possess only one valid driver's license issued by the resident state of the driver.
- Driving Record: No record of a driver's license suspension or revocation for more than 30 days, covering the 36-month period prior to the order date of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Physical Examination: Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Background Check: Must consent to a ten-year check on work history.
- Competitive Pay: Starting from USD $31.41/Hr.
