Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pet Groomer to join our team at Happy Paws. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our canine and feline clients through expert grooming and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brush and detangle or remove matted fur to prevent skin irritation and promote healthy coat growth.
  • Bathe dogs and dry their coats to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Execute a variety of clipping techniques and style requests to enhance the appearance of our clients.
  • Examine pets for parasites or other skin conditions and take necessary action to prevent the spread of disease.
  • Trim nails to prevent overgrowth and discomfort.
  • Ensure the safety of dogs at all times, including during bathing and grooming procedures.
  • Adhere to strict sanitary and cleaning procedures to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet owners to understand their needs and preferences.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a dog grooming technician or similar role.
  • Comfortable working with anxious animals and able to provide a calm and soothing environment.
  • Comfortable bathing and grooming cats, including those with special needs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift large dogs over 60 pounds.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and participate in continuing education to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and dog owners to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness.
