The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant plays a pivotal role within the finance department, reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Manager. This position is essential for supporting the Financial Reporting team in delivering comprehensive financial and operational reports, conducting thorough analyses, and providing critical information necessary for informed operational and strategic decision-making.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong capacity for independent work, effective collaboration within a team setting, and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of various reports including the monthly management package, Board of Directors presentations, quarterly and annual financial statements, and compliance packages.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with different teams to gather variance explanations, such as actuals versus budget comparisons and trend analyses, which will be presented to senior management.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with the finance team to supply necessary data for budgeting and forecasting processes.

Acquisition and Divestiture Support:
Provide assistance during integration and divestiture activities.

Ad Hoc Analysis:
Conduct analyses to support various projects as needed.

Continuous Improvement:
Develop templates and reporting tools to enhance efficiency and improve analytical capabilities.

Account Reconciliations:
Review and resolve discrepancies on a monthly basis.

Special Projects:
Engage in special projects and perform necessary analyses.

External Audit Coordination:
Prepare schedules, address inquiries, and liaise with various teams regarding outstanding items.

Chart of Accounts Maintenance:
Oversee the chart of accounts and account mapping to meet reporting requirements.

Corporate Accounting:
Prepare and review journal entries related to general and administrative expenses, hedges, derivatives, and equity transactions.

Consolidation Processes:
Prepare and review journal entries for eliminations, related party transactions, and intercompany settlements.

Training and Development:
Provide guidance and support to staff accountants during the month-end closing process.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Recent experience in public accounting is advantageous.
  • CPA certification or a graduate degree is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Quorum software is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, along with skills in Word and PowerPoint.
