Job Overview:
We are looking for a
Senior Quality Assurance Engineer specializing in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
with
Level III certifications in Film Radiography (RT) and Digital Radiography (DR),
along with additional certifications in one or more of the following: Computed Radiography (CR), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), or Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
In this capacity, you will deliver proficient NDT Quality support and oversight to our operations and their associated suppliers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direction to NDT personnel in delivering program and functional support in NDT-related issues.
- Develop, implement, review, and validate Non-Destructive Testing inspection methodologies.
- Train and certify personnel in various non-destructive testing disciplines.
- Conduct audits, evaluations, and monitoring of the capabilities of internal inspectors as well as those at suppliers and subcontractors.
- Engage in engineering and customer reviews to ensure adherence to Non-Destructive Testing principles and compliance with customer requirements.
Mentor and support NDT inspectors in executing effective inspections to enhance program performance within the established quality management system.
- Analyze corrective action reports to minimize and eliminate defects.
- Participate in value stream and process mapping initiatives to optimize the flow of new and existing processes.
- Select, calibrate, or verify the operation of equipment utilized in the non-destructive testing of products or materials.
- Engage in cause and corrective action activities, failure investigations, and special projects as assigned in support of management board activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Must possess Level III certification in at least two of the following NDT methods: Radiography (RT - Film and/or Digital), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Computed Radiography (CR), or Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
Candidate must fulfill the requirements of NAS-410.
- Demonstrated proficiency with various NDT inspection techniques and equipment, along with a solid understanding of blueprint reading and interpretation, is essential.
- Familiarity with industry NDT standards (e.g., NAS410, ASTM 1742, ASTM 1417, ASTM 1444, AMS-STD-2154, etc.) is required.
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and a corresponding understanding of manufacturing processes is crucial.
- Current US security clearance, or the ability to obtain clearance, is necessary.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with auditing practices and Process Certification is advantageous.
