POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Engineer role at Ametek, Inc. is integral to the innovation, design, and testing of cutting-edge products that cater to a variety of sectors, including renewable energy, semiconductor manufacturing, and sulfur recovery. This position is situated within the New Product Development team, where a curious and versatile engineer is sought to tackle intricate challenges with creativity and resourcefulness. Our Engineering team fosters a collaborative and accountable environment, promoting a culture of hands-on involvement and result-oriented efforts to drive positive business outcomes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary product development team to bring product concepts to fruition through all stages of the development lifecycle, including ideation, specification creation, design, prototyping, certification, and validation testing.


• Prepare comprehensive documentation packages for new products, which encompass detailed drawings, assembly instructions, operational guidelines, and testing protocols.


• Create and implement Bills of Materials, routing processes, and order entry systems for new products within the ERP framework.


• Facilitate the introduction of new products into manufacturing, assisting with material sourcing and production operations.


• Enhance team capabilities through continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing within the New Product Development group.


• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned or required.


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE


• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.


• 1-3 years of relevant professional experience is preferred.


• Familiarity with mechanical design principles, including optical system design, precision mechanical design, and thermal system design.


• Proficient in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software, mechanical drafting, and GD&T as per ASME Y14.5 standards.


• Understanding of design for manufacturing principles applicable to machined components, sheet metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing techniques.


• Experience in vendor interactions for the selection, procurement, and validation of electro-mechanical components.


• A proactive approach to task ownership, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and hands-on execution.
