Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Roadway Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing roadway infrastructure, including alignments, intersections, and drainage systems. A strong understanding of hydrology and drainage design is essential, as well as knowledge of phased E&SC plans and BMP design. Proficiency in GDOT MicroStation and InRoads/Open Roads standards is also required. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop roadway & intersection alignments/layouts, right-of-way-plans, and drainage plans
  • Apply general understanding of hydrology and drainage design
  • Knowledgeable of phased E&SC plans & BMP design
  • Firm understanding of GDOT MicroStation and InRoads/Open Roads standards
  • Able to quickly grasp and apply new design procedures/ordinances
  • Able to coordinate with utility providers for utility relocations
  • Efficiently generate cross sections & profiles in MicroStation & InRoads
  • Prepare Signing and Marking Plans
  • Prepare Construction Phasing Plans
  • GDOT PDP experience and knowledge of GDOT's PPG and EDG
  • Basic surveying knowledge
  • Able to prepare quantities for cost estimates
  • Excellent communications and relationship building skills

Requirements:
  1. Ten (10) years of related design experience or a Bachelor's degree (BS) from a four-year college or university and minimum of six (6) years of related design experience.
  2. Software proficiency: InRoads, MicroStation, OpenRoads, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Schedule, and Excel.

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
