About the Role

Pegasus Search & Selection is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and timely material and labor estimates for HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating: Estimate various systems in HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection, including analyzing and understanding construction drawings and narratives.
  • Quantity Take-Off: Accurately take off quantities for HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection systems using OST software.
  • Scope of Work: Prepare scopes of work where applicable and note special conditions.
  • Vendor Management: Interact with vendors to compile responsible and accurate estimates of HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection costs for projects consistent with project plans and specifications.
  • Project Management: Assist in take-off of work in place estimates of ongoing work as required by construction group, and maintain accurate and organized files on all projects estimated.
  • Communication: Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to effectively communicate with design teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Exhibit attention to detail and commitment, and be able to effectively problem-solve to research and satisfactorily resolve issues.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in estimating HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection systems, with a strong understanding of construction drawings and narratives.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Sage and OST software, with experience in quantity take-off and estimating.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, time management, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and commitment to company policies.
