Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Road Mechanic to join our team at 2311 RACING LLC fka Racing Acquisitions LLC. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical integrity of our NASCAR Cup Series racecars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Inspection and Verification: Conduct thorough inspections of sub-assemblies, including driveline, steering, brakes, fuel containment, vehicle interior, and suspension, to ensure mechanical integrity.
  • Component Changes and Setup Adjustments: Perform suspension, brakes, drivetrain, and setup changes, including brake rotors and pads, drop gears, differential pressure, shock adjustments, spring rounds, and front and rear bar blades.
  • Driveline Component Changes: Assist the team with driveline component changes, including engine, driveshaft, transaxle, and half-shafts.
  • Documentation and Inspection: Document component and setup changes made in preparation for and throughout race events, and assist the team with the NASCAR inspection process.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair mechanical failures at the track through inspection and service, and aid the team with over-the-wall crash repair during race events.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain organization and cleanliness of the work area.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), 3+ years of auto mechanic experience, and 2+ years of motorsports experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems, ability to use and read basic metrology tools, ability to use basic hand and power tools, ability to understand and communicate with fractions and decimals, and familiarity with racecar body and chassis repair.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, ability to identify and propose solutions to complex issues, ability to assess and react to situations in a fast-paced, stressful environment, ability to perform well in pressure situations with tight deadlines, and ability to work a flexible schedule.
