Job Summary

Gonzo Bros Landscape is seeking a skilled Fertilization Technician to join our team. As a key member of our landscape company, you will be responsible for applying fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals to residential and commercial landscapes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application of Fertilizers and Chemicals
    • Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals according to established schedules and client requirements.
    • Ensure proper mixing, dilution, and application techniques to achieve effective results while minimizing environmental impact.
  • Soil and Plant Analysis
    • Conduct soil tests and analyze plant health to determine nutrient deficiencies, pH levels, and other factors influencing plant growth.
    • Recommend appropriate fertilizers and treatments based on analysis results and client preferences.
  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
    • Implement integrated pest management practices to control pests and diseases effectively.
    • Monitor pest populations and recommend treatments to minimize pesticide use and maintain ecological balance.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation
    • Maintain accurate records of fertilization and chemical applications, including quantities used, areas treated, and application dates.
    • Prepare reports on treatment outcomes, pest control measures, and recommendations for ongoing care.
  • Client Communication
    • Communicate with clients to discuss treatment plans, explain application procedures, and address any concerns or questions.
    • Provide recommendations for ongoing lawn and landscape care to promote healthy growth and maintain client satisfaction.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in horticulture, agronomy, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in fertilization and chemical application within the landscaping or agricultural industry is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to chemical application is essential.
Work Environment

You will primarily work outdoors at residential and commercial properties, collaborating closely with clients, landscape designers, and other team members. The role requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate client needs and seasonal variations in fertilization and pest control requirements.
