Job SummaryThe Patient Care Technician I plays a vital role in our Rehabilitation Hospital, assisting the nursing staff by performing assigned duties for patients and staff under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. This role involves a range of responsibilities, including clerical functions and NA I skills related to rehabilitation care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nursing staff with patient care and clerical duties
- Perform NA I skills related to rehabilitation care
- Provide patient and family education
- Reinforce skills learned in therapy to help patients return to their maximum level of independence
- High school graduate or equivalency
- Completion of third year in the AA Early College Program of a community college
- Nurses Aide I certificate listed with the North Carolina Division of Facilities Services
- Passage of Quality Indicator (QI) credentialing exam for unlicensed personnel related to rehabilitation-specific quality indicators
- Maintain current AHA BLS certification
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
