Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CVOR Nurse who is also flexible to assist in the general operating room when cardiovascular cases are not scheduled. This role involves:

  • Working Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts, including on-call responsibilities.
  • Starting times are 0700 for regular shifts and 0600 for CABG procedures.
  • Shared on-call duties with another CVOR nurse, typically resulting in a balanced workload.

Patient Care Responsibilities

As a CVOR Nurse, you will:

  • Assess patients to identify their mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their families.
  • Utilize clinical judgment to monitor and report any changes in patient conditions.
  • Foster a positive workplace by managing conflicts through professional communication.
  • Ensure compliance with Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and education.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
Job Requirements

We are looking for an experienced CVOR nurse, with flexibility in unit assignments, including Intensive Care, Progressive Care, and Cardiac Services. Relevant unit-specific certifications are considered an asset.

Schedule Information

This position involves 8-hour shifts with shared on-call responsibilities with another CVOR nurse.
