About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced clinician-educator to provide leadership for the SRALab Spinal Cord Innovation Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the overall success and effectiveness of the Center, ensuring high-quality patient care and advancing research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Strategic Vision
  • Develop and communicate a clear vision for the SRALab Spinal Cord Innovation Center, aligning with Northwestern University's strategic goals.
  • Promote quality and safety in patient care, integrating research and clinical practice.
Clinical Leadership
  • Establish and oversee practice standards for the SRALab Spinal Cord Innovation Center, ensuring excellence in interdisciplinary clinical care.
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical protocols, performance standards, and policies across the system of care.
Research and Education
  • Partner with other SRALab Research Chairs to ensure evidence-based clinical care, research activities, and innovation adoption.
  • Conduct scholarly activity through scientific presentation and publication, advancing knowledge in spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
Talent Development and Management
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and develop qualified staff capable of providing high-quality care, aligning with SRAlab's Mission and standards.
  • Directly supervise and appraise physicians, ensuring competencies and specialized skills.
Operations and Planning
  • Share responsibility with the SRALab Spinal Cord Innovation Center Spinal Cord Clinical and Administrative Managers for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating operations.
  • Oversee Spinal Cord Innovation Center operations, managing patient volumes and establishing annual budgets.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Spinal Cord Medicine.
  • Licensure to practice medicine.
  • A minimum of 10 years' progressive clinical and leadership experience in patient care and programs directed at spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated successful research experience in spinal cord injury care and function.
  • Proven ability to lead large, complex teams and manage clinicians/physicians, budgetary responsibilities, program development, and growth.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $250,000 - $350,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Northwestern University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
