Trailer Mechanic

Thermo King Chesapeake is seeking skilled Trailer Repair Technicians to join our team at our Elkridge facility.

We are looking for both experienced and entry-level technicians to work in our service shop. A strong technical/mechanical background is essential, with experience in truck body and trailer repair being a valuable asset. Lift gate repair experience is also highly desirable.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair truck bodies, trailers, and lift gates.
• Adjust and modify all components as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with service writers, management, parts departments, drivers, vendors, and customers.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of paperwork.
• Meet certification requirements for the role.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers.
• Adhere to strict safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform various other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification is a plus.
• Possess a comprehensive set of general tools and proficiency in their use for repairs.
• Welding experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Liftgate repair experience is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to utilize computers for web-based training and daily job functions.
• Physical capability to lift and work without restrictions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated reliability.
• Clean driving record and successful completion of a drug screening.
• Ability to work independently in a field service environment while maintaining a professional demeanor with customers.
