About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Defense Forensics Analyst to join our team at ProSphere Tek. As a Cyber Defense Forensics Analyst, you will play a critical role in maintaining the security and integrity of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze digital evidence and investigate computer security incidents to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations of computer-based crimes, including digital media and logs associated with cyber intrusion incidents.
  • Create forensically sound duplicates of evidence to ensure the integrity of the original data.
  • Decrypt seized data using technical means and provide technical summaries of findings.
  • Ensure the chain of custody is followed for all digital media acquired.
  • Identify digital evidence for examination and analysis to avoid unintentional alteration.
  • Perform dynamic analysis to boot an image of a drive and see the intrusion as the user may have seen it.
  • Perform file signature analysis and hash comparison against established databases.
  • Perform static media analysis and extract data using data carving techniques.
  • Perform static malware analysis and Windows registry analysis.
  • Collect and analyze intrusion artifacts, including source code, malware, and system configuration.
  • Review forensic images and other data sources for recovery of potentially relevant information.
Requirements
  • Must have a DOE Q Clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing digital evidence and investigating computer security incidents.
  • Level 4: PhD in a technical field with limited experience or Masters degree in a technical field and 2 to 5 years of related experience or Bachelors degree in a technical field and 5 to 10 years of related experience or Associates degree in a technical field and 10 to 15 years of related experience.
  • Level 5: PhD in a technical field and 2 to 5 years of related experience or Masters degree in a technical field and 5 to 10 years of related experience or Bachelors degree in a technical field and 10 to 15 years of related experience or Associates degree in a technical field and 15 to 20 years of related experience.
  • Level 6: PhD in a technical field and 5 or more years of related experience or Masters degree in a technical field and 10 or more years of related experience or Bachelors degree in a technical field and 15 or more years of related experience or Associates degree in a technical field and 20 or more years of related experience.
