Position Overview
Polar Tankers, a wholly owned subsidiary of ConocoPhillips, specializes in marine transportation for North Slope production. We operate five company-owned, double-hulled tankers and charter third-party vessels as needed. Our tankers transport oil from Valdez, Alaska, to refineries primarily on the West Coast of the United States. The fleet includes five Endeavour-class tankers: Polar Endeavour, Polar Resolution, Polar Discovery, Polar Adventure, and Polar Enterprise.
Role Description
This is a Safety Sensitive position.
Relocation is not available for this position.
Development Opportunities
If selected for this role, you will undergo diversified training through on-the-job assignments, utilizing the technical skills acquired during your academic studies.
Your work will enhance your technical and professional development and may involve collaboration with both office and field personnel.
Basic/Required Qualifications:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- A minimum of 8 continuous weeks of availability for the internship
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Marine Engineering, Marine Operations, Maritime Operations & Technology, or a foreign equivalent
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Ability to analyze issues and understand their business impact
- Ownership of actions and follow-through on commitments
- Ability to deliver positive results through realistic planning
- Skill in building effective solutions based on available information and making timely, safe, and ethical decisions
This position requires possession of a TWIC card (Transportation Workers Identification Card) to access secure areas of Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) regulated facilities and vessels.
