Baystate Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Resource Technician to join our Emergency Department team. As a Behavioral Resource Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide intermittent/close observation of patients, intervening as necessary to ensure patient safety.
  • Document patient status every 15 minutes and communicate patient information and observations promptly to the RN.
  • Provide care for patients, including bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, and repositioning.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and follow directions from the RN regarding limitations and privileges.
  • Redirect patients to different activities and de-escalate situations to maintain a therapeutic environment.
  • Observe and report any significant occurrences in the patient's condition and behavior to the RN.

Requirements

  • 1 year of relevant patient care experience, including experience working with behavioral health patients, direct patient care, or experience as a paraprofessional.
  • Ability to read comprehension, write, and follow instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience working with behavioral health patients.
