Job Description

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as the Director of the Rochester Jewish Film Festival. This is a part-time contract position that requires a strong passion for Jewish cultural arts and film.

The Director will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the festival, including film curating and programming, financial management, fundraising, marketing, event planning, and volunteer management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of executing programs from start to finish and will possess strong research and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive the vision and implementation of progressive film programming to engage the community with well-balanced, thought-provoking, entertaining films and related programming.
  • Select and manage a committee of 15-20 people ensuring a balanced representation of the community.
  • Manage RJFF fundraising campaign and donor relations to ensure proper funding of the event.
  • Plan and manage all festival marketing campaigns including social media, email, USPS mailings, community outreach, onsite marketing, and more.

Requirements:

  • Two or more years of experience in executing programs from start to finish.
  • Prior not-for-profit leadership experience.
  • Prior fundraising and marketing experience.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Jewish communal landscape.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, electronic communication, and social media.
