Job Description

The Safety and Health Specialist will play a critical role in promoting a positive culture while complying with Amazon standards and maintaining a safe work environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems
  • Supporting management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws
  • Conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions
  • Responsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics

Additionally, the Safety and Health Specialist will be expected to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the workplace.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
  • A minimum of 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in worker's compensation case management, Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety-related field, and strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills are preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $48,200/year to $76,500/year, depending on location. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, this position may also offer equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
