Job Summary

This position is responsible for auditing the University's information systems, platforms, technological infrastructure, and related operations in accordance with established technology policies, regulations, and adopted frameworks.

The IT Auditor will work independently under the direction of an experienced IT Auditor, Audit Manager, or Director to conduct all phases of internal audits, including planning, testing, reporting, and follow-up in accordance with the professional standards of internal auditing defined by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

The successful candidate will develop positive and collaborative business partnerships with university departments, identify and assess information technology and security risks, and provide written reports regarding relevant procedures, results, and conclusions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with established technology policies and regulations
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate information technology and security risks
  • Provide advice to department heads and supervisors regarding the design and implementation of information technology systems, procedures, and controls
  • Maintain industry knowledge and skills through professional development and engagement

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferred qualifications include technical experience in a role such as IT Auditor, Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, Database Administrator, or similar, as well as information technology certification such as CISA or CISSP.
