Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society Skilled Nursing Facility in Superior, NE. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our patients, residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including baked goods, entrees, and desserts, following standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines.
  • Ensure food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met at all times.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, including mixers, slicers, kettles, and ovens, to prepare and cook food.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Work effectively with internal customers, including patients, residents, staff, and visitors, to provide excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and prepare meals, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
  • Document food preparation, storage, and serving procedures, as well as maintain accurate records of food inventory and supplies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of six months of applicable experience in food preparation and service.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
  • Basic math skills to accurately measure ingredients and portion food.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk distances, and lift up to 25 pounds.
