Role Overview - School Year Management
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The individual in this position will act as an educational leader, directing instructional services essential for fostering student achievement in alignment with state and federal academic standards. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of data analysis and reporting, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and the community to facilitate positive change. Responsibilities include overseeing student supervision, coordinating Response to Intervention (RTI) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), engaging in school improvement initiatives, and conducting data assessments. A commitment to supporting all students in their behavioral and academic growth is essential.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid Indiana teaching license, possess a minimum of four years of teaching experience, and have a valid Indiana Building Level Administrator License for the relevant grade levels. Proficiency in district-specific data software and the ability to analyze educational data are crucial. Strong public speaking skills, knowledge of de-escalation techniques, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and effective fiscal management practices are necessary for guiding instructional leadership.
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed the Fort Wayne Community Schools Administrative Intern Program or possess prior administrative experience, particularly in a large urban educational setting.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
Provide instructional leadership and ensure the effective implementation of district frameworks. Oversee educational practices, instructional materials, and curriculum strategies. Participate in the development and execution of curriculum standards and guidelines. Monitor instructional activities to ensure alignment with curriculum requirements and adjust strategies based on student performance data. Create and manage the master schedule and assist with student enrollment processes. Manage student discipline at the assigned school site. Support faculty and staff in interpreting discipline data and developing classroom management strategies. Oversee student supervision, including expulsions and manifestation determinations. Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff as directed. Assist in the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of personnel. Coordinate staff assignments and ensure compliance with established standards. Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to align with district goals. Stay informed about educational methods, programs, and standards related to school operations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Adapt programs and services to meet the diverse needs of students. Participate in district meetings as required. Organize and direct school operations, including curriculum and instructional programs. Assist in establishing timelines and priorities for school activities, ensuring compliance with established standards and regulations. Coordinate state and district-required assessments, including ECA, ISTEP+, PSAT, and SRI. Assist in the development and implementation of school programs, schedules, and objectives. Foster positive communication to enhance the school's image; develop strategies to promote school achievements among faculty, students, parents, and the community. Advocate for the success of every student by acting with integrity and fairness. Contribute to the goals of district-wide teams. Collect, analyze, and report data related to student conduct, attendance, academic performance, and other metrics as required. Proficient use of data management tools and software applications is expected. Address stakeholder concerns and manage emergency situations effectively. Perform additional duties as assigned to meet the specific needs of the school.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
