About the Position

Azusa Pacific University is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach courses in the Master of Science in Organizational Psychology (MSOP) program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in organizational psychology and experience in teaching at the college or university level.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction in the manner determined by the department, with a focus on delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Prepare and teach curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department, with a focus on integrating Christian values and principles.
  • Advise students and provide office hours in relation to the course load carried, and as assigned in the faculty teaching assignment.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and departmental activities as identified by the department chair or program director, and assigned in the adjunct faculty contract.
  • Determine student mastery of material and assign final course grades from evaluation of tests, quizzes, homework, and other assignments and activities related to course material.
  • Articulate educational connections in a variety of leadership settings, with a focus on applying organizational psychology principles to real-world scenarios.
  • Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
Qualifications
  • Must have a master's degree or Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in Organizational Psychology or a related area.
  • Preferred experience includes teaching at the college or university level, with a focus on organizational psychology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional and scholarly activity, with a focus on applying organizational psychology principles to real-world scenarios.
  • Demonstration of collegial teamwork, including a desire to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the Department of Leadership and Organizational Psychology.
  • The ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds, with a focus on creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University.
Workload

Assigned teaching duties will not exceed 9 units per semester; office hours and additional duties may be assigned. Total workload will not exceed 29 hours per week, nor 24 units per 12-month period.

Compensation

$25.32 - $27.32/hour (Using a 3 unit full semester appointment as a pay guide). The actual hourly rate will be determined by the units, course length, experience, and rank of the candidate. Adjuncts are paid on an hourly basis which includes preparation and teaching time.
