Music Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Music or Art Therapist to join our team at Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS), a 178-bed acute care facility located in Streamwood, IL. As a Music or Art Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing music therapy or art therapy in a group setting, designing activities, and conducting expressive therapy assessments.
Responsibilities- Provide music therapy or art therapy in a group setting in a hospital environment
- Design and implement activities that promote emotional and behavioral growth
- Conduct expressive therapy assessments to identify individual needs
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or Art Therapy; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum one year of experience conducting group music therapy or art therapy, preferably in a hospital setting
- MT-BC, ATR, or ATR-BC eligibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
