Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Skilled Electrician with a minimum of 6 months of documented experience in the electrical field. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to read and interpret technical instructions and documentation. Responsibilities and requirements may vary based on experience level and assigned tasks. Assistants will primarily support these activities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare sketches to indicate the placement of wiring and equipment or follow existing diagrams or blueprints to ensure that concealed wiring is installed prior to the completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaws, pipe threaders, and conduit benders.
  • Pull wiring through conduit, with assistance from helpers.
  • Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads using knives or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
  • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus, including switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, securing them in place with screws or bolts using hand or power tools.
  • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
  • Test circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Monitor the functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and determine the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
  • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Distinguish colors accurately.
  • Understand and apply safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
  • Adhere to all safety and project regulations while performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
May require a high school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant experience in the electrical field or a related area. Candidates should have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the electrical trade. The role typically involves working under direct supervision, relying on established guidelines to perform job functions. Reports to a supervisor or manager.
