Job Title: Research Officer

St. Catherine University is seeking a highly skilled Research Officer to join our Institutional Advancement team. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in identifying, researching, and cultivating major gift prospects to support the university's mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive prospect research plan to identify and prioritize potential donors.
  • Conduct in-depth research on prospects, including analysis of financial data, philanthropic history, and other relevant information.
  • Prepare detailed research briefings and reports for senior leadership and development staff.
  • Collaborate with development staff to develop and implement strategies for cultivating and soliciting major gifts.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in prospect research and development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, communications, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in prospect research or a related field.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and development staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting.
  • Proficiency in database management and research software, such as CRM Advance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
