Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach assigned courses in accordance with the course syllabus and college policy, and continue to update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain currency and relevance.
  • Student Advising and Support: Provide academic advising and support to students, including holding office hours and meeting with students as needed.
  • Professional Development: Actively participate in discipline, division, and districtwide task forces and committees, and contribute to and participate in staff development programs.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in community activities and services, and work with Library staff in the selection of print and non-print materials in the overall collection development of the Library.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Perform registration tasks, participate in full regalia in official graduation ceremonies, and perform other duties as determined in consultation with the division dean, associate dean, or director.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited institution, with academic preparation in the teaching field to include eighteen (18) semester hours in the discipline to be taught.
  • Experience: Teaching experience is desired, with community college or university teaching experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a sedentary environment, with occasional walking and standing. The position requires talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, and repetitive motions. The employee will be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body, up to 10 pounds occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently.
