Government Professor

Lone Star College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Government courses at various times and locations. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in political science/government or 18 graduate hours in related courses.

The successful applicant will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, submitting required reports, and utilizing a course syllabus. Additionally, they will meet with students, evaluate their progress, and maintain professional relationships.

The estimated salary for this position is $53.82 per contact hour. Benefits include tuition waiver, participation in a tax-deferred retirement plan, and professional development opportunities.

1. Teach Government courses at various times and locations
2. Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
3. Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
4. Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
5. Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
6. Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informs students in a timely manner of their progress
7. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
