Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Bay Mills Indian Community. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists with filling prescriptions, data processing, and customer service.
  • Perform comprehensive computer functions, including filling refills, new prescriptions, and inventory management.
  • Process physician's orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Count and package medications according to label quantities and NDC.
  • Establish and maintain patient profiles, including demographic information and prescription profiles.
  • Understand and calculate basic pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Collect payments from customers and answer questions about payments or prescriptions.
  • Answer incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Inventory control, including receiving, stocking, and ordering medications.
  • Understand and maintain the integrity of the 340b program.
  • Follow all internal and external policies regarding pharmacy operations.
  • Maintain day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including cleaning and shredding.
  • Provide fast and courteous service to all customers.
  • Conduct business in a professional manner at all times.
Requirements
  • Pharmacy Technician License through the State of Michigan.
  • Nationally recognized Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • One year's work experience as a certified pharmacy technician preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent past work history, as demonstrated through references and background checks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a personable customer service attitude.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
Working Conditions

This position requires standing for at least 80% of the time during shifts, with occasional walking and sitting. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
