Job Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Efficiency Specialist plays a critical role in identifying areas of improvement and implementing solutions to optimize maintenance processes. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication.

Main Responsibilities

  • Promote and adhere to ATS's safety culture, recognizing its importance in maintaining a healthy work environment.
  • Analyze data to identify top repetitive losses in availability, performance efficiency, and quality rate, helping to pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the root cause analysis process, providing training and coaching to maintenance personnel to enhance their skills.
  • Develop and implement solutions to address root causes, focusing on long-term sustainability and effectiveness.
  • Drive the implementation of systemic improvement projects, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Identify and implement current and new processes to boost both maintenance and operations performance and throughput.
  • Conduct Process FMEA's or RCM analysis on critical assets, ensuring their optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Provide technical support to operations and manufacturing personnel as needed, offering analytical troubleshooting services.
  • Foster the use of predictive, preventative, and precision maintenance technologies and strategies, aimed at identifying risks before they become issues.
  • Support the implementation of ATS's Operating System towards achieving 'Gold Status' in Safety, People, Process, and Technology.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ATS policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program in electrical/electronic technology, mechanical technology, or manufacturing technology; or combination of associate degree and 3 years related experience.
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical or mechanical components, tools, and designs.
  • Knowledge of failure mode effects analysis, cause and effect diagrams, root cause failure analysis, life-cycle costing, and risk analysis.
  • Ability to research and apply new equipment technology trends.
  • Robust problem-solving, mathematical, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, maintenance systems, and applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with data trend analysis, vibration analysis, motor current analysis, oil analysis, lubrication and hydraulic testing, laser alignment, nondestructive testing, infrared thermography, and ultrasound technology.
  • CMRP certification.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing, walking, using hands to handle objects, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. The employee is occasionally required to sit and may be required to lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds. Close vision and color vision are essential for this position. The work environment is typically performed in a factory setting and can be very loud. In addition, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
