Job Summary

This is a 40-hour per week, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM position, 12 months per year, Tuesday - Saturday. The location for this position is at Shasta Learning Center.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance & Operations, the successful candidate will assist in the setup and operation of stage, lighting, sound, and other equipment required to produce events. They will also provide repairs as needed for lighting, stage, sound, and other production equipment or tools as instructed. Additionally, they will be responsible for grounds keeping, custodial, and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the setup and operation of stage, lighting, sound, and other equipment required to produce events.
  • Provide repairs as needed for lighting, stage, sound, and other production equipment or tools as instructed.
  • Perform grounds keeping, custodial, and maintenance tasks.
  • Keep inventory of stage lights, bulbs, and other equipment such as audio and video equipment.
  • Report to Site Maintenance Supervisor and keep them informed of all needed repairs and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of modern lighting design and systems.
  • Knowledge of stagecraft and operation.
  • Knowledge of sound reinforcement systems.
  • Knowledge of stage rigging, construction, and methods.
  • Knowledge of proper methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the custodial/maintenance trade and basic electronics.
  • Knowledge of basic operations and tools employed in building maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of general safety practices and procedures.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Indoor and outdoor work environment; subject to driving a vehicle to conduct work and evenings or variable hours. Working at heights on ladders or catwalks and exposure to extreme heat from stage lights.

A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
