Broward County Public Schools is seeking a qualified Teacher Assistant to support our Pre-K Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classrooms. As a key member of our educational team, you will provide essential support to our students and teachers, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, restroom functions, and feeding needs, as required.
- Provide mobility assistance, including lifting, positioning, or transferring students.
- Assist with seizure control activities.
- Support students with adaptive equipment needs.
- Utilize positive crisis management (PCM) skills to provide behavioral assistance.
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution or at least 60 semester hours of earned college credit.
- Successful completion of the Teacher Assisting Curriculum at the designated technical college in the Broward County School District and achievement of a passing score on the ParaPro Test.
- Two years of demonstrated experience working with children, within the last five years, is preferred.
- Six earned semester hours in the area of Human Growth and Development is preferred.
- Bilingual skills are preferred.
This position requires working in a fast-paced educational environment, interacting with students, teachers, and staff. The ability to lift, bend, and move students as needed is essential.
CompensationThe hourly rate for this position is $16.00 - $21.91 per hour. New hires will be hired at the minimum of the assigned hourly range.
