About the Role:

Parsons Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for independently performing all aspects of field engineering assignments, including the development of plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, and construction methods and systems for assigned projects or designated areas of large projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.
  • Maintain first-level quality assurance to ensure that the installation of all work within your discipline is in accordance with plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Supervise construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more construction engineering disciplines, as well as survey personnel.
  • Supervise Construction Inspectors, ensuring that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Monitor and coordinate all contractors' activities for assigned areas.
  • Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
  • Ensure that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.
  • Establish and maintain liaison with discipline design engineering staff.
  • Review and interpret discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
  • Provide resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinate application of solutions.
  • Develop discipline construction schedules and monitor progress.
  • Provide schedule and progress appraisal report to the Construction Manager.
  • Monitor material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
  • Ensure that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
  • Organize the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
  • Initiate and maintain records, back-charge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.
  • Interface with the client and upper-level management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience, as well as 8+ years of experience in field construction is required.
  • Experience in the construction of large civil/transportation projects.
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project.
