Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a pivotal role in championing the Corporate WIN Strategy by overseeing quality operations within the designated Value Stream. This position is responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining quality standards for both products and processes. By utilizing statistical data and conducting root cause analyses, the specialist will facilitate quality improvements and ensure that plant quality objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate quality performance through statistical and analytical methods.
2. Design and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation procedures to assess the precision and reliability of products and processes.
3. Establish quality systems, inspection plans, and statistical quality plans for proposals.
4. Ensure compliance with project documentation and contractual requirements.
5. Analyze the cost implications of non-conforming products and materials through statistical assessments.
6. Collaborate with product development teams to provide quality insights.
7. Identify quality trends and coordinate corrective actions with customers and suppliers.
8. Conduct in-house and supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
9. Prepare comprehensive reports by collecting and analyzing data, and making informed recommendations.
10. Participate in failure analysis and corrective action initiatives.
11. Drive continuous improvement by applying lean manufacturing principles to enhance products and processes.
12. Act as a liaison with customers during audits and develop corrective action plans.
13. Educate the Value Stream Team on specialized quality functions, including Production Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP).
14. Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and industry networking.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Certification from the American Society for Quality is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of modern inspection and quality assurance techniques.
- Proven ability to implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Proficiency in standard business applications and data analysis tools.
- Strong communication skills for effective information sharing with team members and management.
- Experience with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with QS9000/ISO900 and TSI6949 Systems is preferred.
