Job Summary

This position at Deer's Head Hospital Center is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with a Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform practical nursing duties for the care, treatment, habilitation, or rehabilitation of mentally ill, aged, physically ill, or physically disabled patients/residents.
  • Work in a team relationship with a Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure compliance with statues and regulations governing nursing and the Standards of Practice for LPNs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and communication.
Requirements
  • Determined by the Maryland Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Practical Nurses.
  • One year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
