Compensation: $28.00 per hour
Department Insights
- Support multiple facilities within a 150-mile radius of your home
- Mileage reimbursement available
- Additional $5 per hour for float assignments
- Weekend shift differential of $1.25 per hour

Role Summary
The Good Samaritan Society is in search of a dedicated and flexible Certified Medication Aide to join our team as a Traveling CMA. This role offers the opportunity to work across various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from your home, providing essential care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, and the flexibility of no contract requirements. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in delivering age-appropriate care tailored to the physical and psychological needs of residents as outlined in their care plans.
Responsibilities include assisting with fundamental health care needs, which may encompass daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and recording vital signs, as well as providing psycho-social support. The role may also involve aiding residents in mobility, including transferring and repositioning, while employing correct techniques and equipment.
Additionally, the CMA will administer prescribed medications as directed by a licensed nurse, ensuring compliance with state regulations. Documentation of resident care outcomes, medication administration, and communication of any changes in condition to the charge nurse are essential duties. The position also entails collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs, along with providing housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living environments.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not mandatory. Candidates should be at least 18 years of age, with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care being advantageous.
Annual competency testing and continuing education credits are required, with a minimum of 12 hours mandated each year based on state guidelines. Valid certifications as required by state regulations must be maintained.
