About the Role

We are looking for a Construction Field Specialist to join our Transportation-Construction Management team.

Position Overview:

The Construction Field Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the field evaluation of roadway and bridge construction initiatives, preparing and submitting progress and final assessments, verifying engineering computations, interpreting contract specifications, creating engineering solutions in MicroStation for contractors and stakeholders, and supervising contractors to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.

This role involves working on significant road and bridge projects for transportation authorities, with opportunities for rapid advancement based on performance. You will collaborate within a project-specific team and be part of a larger, expanding Texas Transportation-Construction Management organization comprising over 100 construction experts.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in major road or bridge construction
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months
  • Must acquire any necessary certifications and pass relevant qualification assessments within specified timeframes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop for extended periods
  • Capability to reach both horizontally and vertically for tasks
  • Experience using construction or inspection safety equipment, including fall protection
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 - 3 years of practical experience with CADD software, particularly MicroStation, and familiarity with Highway Design and Work Zone Traffic Control Plans
  • Experience with various contract delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and CMGC
  • Experience in large-scale, complex transportation construction projects
  • Completion of OSHA 10-hour training
