Key Responsibilities

The Licensed Physical Rehabilitation Specialist (PT, DPT, RPT) in Home Health is tasked with assessing and evaluating patient care needs related to mobility, endurance, pain, and other medical conditions. Based on these evaluations, the Specialist collaborates to create a treatment plan, implements interventions to enhance the patient's well-being, and monitors progress.

  • Assess the patient's functional status and physical therapy requirements. Collaborate with the physician to develop the therapy care plan.
  • Monitor and report the patient's response to treatment and any changes in their condition to the supervising nurse and/or physician.
  • Administer treatments to alleviate pain, restore function, and maintain optimal functioning according to established standards of practice.
  • Educate and inform all members of the healthcare team, the patient, and their family/caregivers about the care plan, functional limitations, and progress towards goals.

Licensure Requirements

  • Current Physical Therapy licensure in the state of MA
  • Current CPR certification
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, along with access to a reliable vehicle
