Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Nurse to join our team at the University of Colorado Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting key aspects of research for Phase I-IV industry-sponsored, co-operative group and/or investigator-initiated clinical trials in accordance with the trial protocols, FDA Regulations, and ICH/GCP Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical research studies, including recruiting and interviewing prospective subjects, obtaining medical history and current medications, and confirming eligibility of subjects.
  • Ensure adherence to all research standards as set forth by the FDA, OHRP, University of Colorado Hospital, University of Colorado Denver, National Cancer Institute, and other pertinent regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate study subject appointments, data entry, and study subject advocacy.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team in developing all aspects of patient care, including assessing patient's pertinent health history and developing protocol-specific source documents.
  • Rotate through department PK (blood draw) schedule as necessary.
  • Develop and review trial-specific treatment (protocol) orders for accuracy and completeness prior to implementation in electronic medical record.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in biological sciences, nutrition, nursing, health, human services, social sciences, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • RN License required (Current state nursing license or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact).
  • One (1) year of RN experience for Clinical Research Nurse - RN I Level (Intermediate), two (2) years of medical/surgical or oncology nursing experience for Clinical Research Nurse - RN II Level (Intermediate), and three (3) years of medical/surgical or oncology nursing experience for Clinical Research Nurse - RN III Level (Senior).
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCRP - Certified Clinical Research Professional (obtained through SoCRA), CCRC - Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (obtained through ACRP), or OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse (obtained through ONS).
