Housekeeping Specialist

As a Housekeeping Attendant with the Navy Exchange, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of housekeeping services at our Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and Navy Lodge properties. Your duties will include cleaning guest rooms, interior public spaces, storage areas, laundry rooms, exterior spaces, and more. You will use hand and powered cleaning equipment to perform your duties, and will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and order of our facilities.

• Clean and maintain guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, and polishing furniture and fixtures.
• Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, and polishers.
• Empty wastebaskets, dust, and polish room furniture.
• Wash and disinfect walls, partitions, air vents, toilet bowls, lavatories, and other surfaces.
• Clean and replace window treatments and ceiling fixtures.
• Change light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds.
• Maintain the cleanliness and order of storage rooms and laundry areas.
• Communicate with supervisors and other staff members to ensure that rooms are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance of equipment used.
• Assist with the receipt and delivery of supplies and merchandise.
• May be required to load and unload trucks and vans.

• No experience required.
• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Physical requirements: moderate physical effort, moving furniture and the use of hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment.

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. You will be required to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, and to work at heights using ladders and scaffolds. You will also be required to work in a variety of environments, including guest rooms, public spaces, and storage areas.
