KEY FUNCTIONS:

  • Takes the lead in crafting Cloud domain architecture perspectives and models that illustrate current, target, and transitional states. Utilizes existing state perspectives to pinpoint and evaluate pain points and opportunities (PPOs). Conducts sophisticated modeling and analysis to satisfy the strategic requirements of the organization concerning system, information, functional/non-functional needs, performance, and security/regulatory obligations. Develops and applies architecture patterns, ensuring alignment with IT strategies and reference architectures. Guarantees integration and alignment across architecture domains while ensuring traceability to business needs through business architecture and downstream alignment with solution components. Guides the enhancement of domain architecture strategies, standards, and guidelines, and supports the creation of reusable domain patterns.
  • Collaborates on the design, engineering, and deployment of internal assets aimed at improving solution quality; engages throughout the implementation phase. Supports peer evaluations and represents the architecture domain in presentations to the Architecture Review Board. Works together on the publication and upkeep of viewpoints/work products in the architecture repository, ensuring they are well-organized, precise, and accessible. Addresses stakeholder feedback received through various channels. Ensures that solutions comply with regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Partners in the development of cloud solution architecture for intricate, high-profile business projects, employing a robust combination of leadership and technical skills along with a consultative approach. Facilitates concept development to support the integration of SaaS and PaaS solutions with legacy systems. Leads technical discussions with teams to formulate transition roadmaps and architecture patterns for migrating legacy systems to cloud architectures. Collaborates on reengineering applications and technology stacks to utilize cloud-native technologies for data management, application development, messaging, API gateways, security, AI/Machine Learning, and analytics. Guides the assessment and establishment of new cloud-based technology stacks and operational concepts to replace existing data center technologies across architecture domains. Oversees the evaluation, rationalization, and implementation of existing tools (monitoring, systems management, operational, development, testing) to support a hybrid and multi-cloud environment.
  • Works with various teams (both business and technical), key stakeholders, and partners to comprehend needs that maximize architectural impact and address technical constraints. Evaluates and selects solution/product designs that align with IT/Cloud Domain strategies, standards, and guidelines. Provides counsel to leadership and teams.
  • Investigates emerging Cloud trends and technologies to assess their relevance and applicability to the organization.
  • Engages in the vendor evaluation and selection process broadly; facilitates vendor assessments for domain-specific tools. Represents the architecture domain in drafting RFIs/RFPs and in the evaluation/scoring of vendor proposals.
  • Conducts the development/enhancement of architecture domain methodologies and tools. Ensures the alignment/integration of Cloud architecture processes/deliverables with those of other architecture domains and SDLC disciplines. Develops domain-related communication/educational materials for stakeholders and architecture/SDLC partners.
  • Leads assessments of new/proposed projects for architectural impacts in support of annual planning, resource estimation, and alignment with IT strategy and enterprise architecture. Contributes to project, product, and enterprise technology roadmaps. Provides regular updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities related to the architecture domain.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree, in addition to the required work experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified System Architect.

Experience: 8 years of experience in the Architecture Domain leading architectural initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree; experience in 2-3 different architecture domains.
  • AWS and Cloud Security Certification preferred.
  • 4 years of cloud experience.
  • Proficient experience with AWS required, Azure/GCP preferred.
  • Understanding of security processes, standards, and issues related to multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications, including relevant data privacy and compliance requirements. Familiarity with principles of network, application, and information security.
  • Understanding of enterprise application integration technologies.
  • Understanding of software engineering principles including DevOps, CI/CD pipeline, test automation, environment, and configuration automation.
  • Familiarity with design thinking and similar methodologies is a plus.

Salary Range: $122,040 - $242,385
