Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at Houston Methodist Continuing Care Hospital. As an OTA, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering unparalleled quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed therapists, focusing on patients' physical needs and maximizing performance.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination, promoting optimal patient throughput and experience.
  • Mentor and guide colleagues, including Occupational Therapist Assistants, Technicians, and students, to enhance their skills, knowledge, and confidence.
  • Participate in departmental programs, projects, and activities to foster growth, innovation, and continuous development as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and leader.
Requirements
  • Degree from an education program approved by the credentialing body for OTA certification.
  • 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant preferred; may consider new graduates or entry-level OTAs.
  • State licensure as an OTA or Temporary OTA within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS (AHA) certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
