Grinder Technician

The OD-ID Grinder is a critical role within our manufacturing team at Precision Gears, Inc. This position requires a skilled individual to operate manual and CNC grinding machines, ensuring the production of high-quality parts that meet plant specifications.

1. Machine Operation: Set up, program, and operate both CNC grinding machines and manual grinding machines to produce parts with precision and accuracy.
2. Quality Control: Inspect completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications, identifying and addressing any defects or issues.
3. Maintenance and Housekeeping: Clean the work area, perform minor machine maintenance, and ensure the equipment is in good working condition.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand measuring instruments, reading blueprints, and understanding specifications and routings.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as metric conversions.
• Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication skills to interact with colleagues and management.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing or machining environment, particularly with grinding machines.
• Skills: Ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced setting.

The physical demands of this role include standing, sitting, and walking, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. The incumbent will also be required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, and have specific vision requirements, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
