Key Responsibilities- Nursing Services: Provide emergency care for students and staff, administer medications, and conduct health screenings.
- Health Education: Develop and implement health education programs for students, staff, and faculty, promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students and staff, ensuring compliance with district and state regulations.
- Communication: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students receive necessary medical attention and support.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in school nursing, attending workshops and conferences to enhance professional growth and development.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.
- Certifications: Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas, Certified by the Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening, and trained in scoliosis screening.
- Experience: One or more years of nursing experience required.
The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, staff, and faculty. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team setting, communicate clearly and concisely, and maintain confidentiality.
