Position Summary:

The Ultrasound Technician performs specialized ultrasound examinations under the supervision of a Radiologist. This role involves taking responsibility for specific areas or procedures as necessary.

Shifts typically include evening hours on weekends and one variable weekday.

Position Details:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Equivalent experience may be considered in place of the formal degree or diploma.

Associate's: An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution or comparable education/experience.
Other: Completion of a recognized ultrasound training program.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

ARDMS - American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

OB/GYN certification is preferred.

AB certification is preferred.

RVT certification is preferred.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and/or training is desirable.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Exhibits proficiency in all aspects of ultrasound positioning.
Understanding of physiological processes, procedure preparation, and technical specifications.
Capable of operating all ultrasound machinery, adjusting technical parameters as required.
Ensures positive patient interactions through effective communication to reduce anxiety.
Ability to interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
Competent in drafting routine reports and correspondence.
Effective verbal communication with clients and team members.
Ability to perform calculations involving proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Application of basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions with common sense understanding.
Skilled in addressing issues with multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
