Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Per-Diem Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Hollywood. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weigh, count, measure, and mix medication with precision and attention to detail.
  • Handle inventory to ensure the pharmacy is properly stocked and maintain accurate records.
  • Receive and verify written prescriptions, fill prescriptions or refill requests, and ensure information is complete and accurate.
  • Answer telephones and respond to questions or requests from patients and staff.
  • Fills bottles with prescribed medications, types and affixes labels, and assists customers with simple questions and referrals.
  • Establish and maintain patient profiles and records, and transfer medication from vials to sterile and disposable syringes using aseptic techniques.
  • Supplies and monitors robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers, and prepares and processes medical insurance claim forms and handles insurance claim records.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures, and safeguard University assets.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • FL Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
